The Pinterest Makers group is an opportunity for students and staff on the Manawatū campus to do a craft project with items (such as glad jar planters, T-shirt tote bags etc.) that would otherwise be thrown away.
Conversations with students and staff it have made it clear that such a group would be welcomed on the Manawatū campus. People talked about having an opportunity to be creative, make something unique to them and have an item that they can take away at the end of a session. It has also been pointed out that this would be a great opportunity for likeminded people to connect with each other and share ideas.
The project is in its prototype stage. A pilot session will be run on Wednesday 21st of August at the Student Enterprise Space in order to examine the numbers of people attending, the potential ongoing costs for the group and the human resources required to help make this an ongoing thing on the Manawatū campus.
