A project to encourage reusable culture on campus
4/4/2017 1 Comment Tussock selling keep cups! The Keep Cup team had a huge success with their first trial of bringing keep cups to Massey Wellington's campus. 25 keep cups were donated to the project by Mags Chalecka-Harris, who co-facilitates the project alongside Andrea Marsden. These cups were then stationed in Tussock for the campus cafe to sell for $10 with a complementary coffee. The first cup sold within the first 30seconds, the rest followed within four days. The team was also able to collaborate with Tussock to give customers 20c off each coffee made in a keep cup.
The team is currently ordering more keep cups to continue selling at Tussock. 50 cups will soon be arriving in the post. Later on in the project, the team will be looking at how they could use students to design the cups for Tussock to sell, distributing student work and celebrating the talent Massey fosters.

About this projectDisposable cups have become a luxury that comes with our daily cup of coffee. On the Massey University campus Tussock ordered 100,000 takeaway cups last year alone. Staff and students had no alternative! The Keep Cup team at Campus Co-Lab aim to change that. By sourcing keep cups for Tussock to sell and exploring ways to enhance the reusable culture on campus, steps are being taken to reduce the use of disposable cups.
